Ways to get the right results from ovulation tests

The best way to find out the appropriate time to get pregnant is by ovulation tests which help in delivering accurate results and in a way helps in increasing your odds of conceiving. Ovulation tests usually help in detecting the levels of LH which is also called the luteinizing hormone in the blood samples of a woman.

In the initial stages the levels or the traces of LH are evident in the blood but after a few hours they become prominent in the urine samples of the person. Ovulation usually occurs within a period of 24-48 hours starting from the time period of the LH surge. The ideal way of getting pregnant is to have intercourse when the test results of the ovulation tests are positive. It is better that you have a sperm present before the egg is released or enter. The levels of LH might also vary from person to person. The LH surge might be on a higher side for few and low for others.

When you take up the urine pregnancy test you need to see if the strips on both the sides change their color or darken, but in the case of ovulation tests the color of the strips changes on both the sides but that is not the deciding factor, the deciding factor is hoe dark is the color of the strip. If the color of the strip is very dark then it means that the LH surge is high and you are ovulating. There are cases where the levels of LH surge is always high in a woman so you need to wait till the strip turns very dark for about 4-5 minutes to make sure that you are ovulating and it is the right time to conceive. The color of the strip becomes dark gradually. This is the primary reason behind doctors suggesting ovulation tests twice a day.

Most importantly please be careful of when to take the ovulation tests. Make sure that you don't take the test early in the morning or after first morning urine. Make sure that you take the ovulations tests in the afternoon. The main reason behind this is that the morning urine is usually highly concentrated which would result in negative test results.
